Characters are fundamentally incapable of overcoming simple obstacles on their own. The queen quickly decides to run away, and for some reason thinks the best way for her to make money is to become a farm hand? Like she wasn't managing full scale crop rotations and trade at the palace? Same nonsense happens later when she's not allowed in the queen's palace, her first thought to get living expenses money is to sell her jewelry? Like girl you should have a pre-established budget to pull from, plus the king loves you and can just pay for your stuff himself? It very much feels like the kind of story a preschooler would come up with.
