  This review contains spoilers. 「真夜中のレクイエム」（グレイがヒーロー）、「長い夜の終わり」（カーターがヒーロー）、翡翠の誘惑（ウェストがヒーロー）を含む、「ロンバード家とその周辺の人々シリーズ」のうちの一つ。守られる側も守る側も酸いも甘いも嚙分けた大人同士なのでメンタルが安定してて、ハラハラせずに読めます。というかロマンス部分のハラハラ以前に常に命を狙われてるギリギリの警護劇なので、揉めてる場合じゃないてのが大きい。ヒロインの方は長兄カップルを殺害されてることで巻き込まれたくない男たちから遠巻きにされて純潔なまま、ヒーローは年がら年中アバンチュール、さらに「仕事上その方が都合がいい」とあらば誰とでも寝るタイプ。でもそんなことはこの際、二の次とばかりに激しく愛し合い、それをお互い相手のせいにしない二人。状況はスリリングなのに恋に落ちる心と身体を止められない、それもまたロマンチック。ラストはヒロインが撃った銃が確実に犯人を捉えてるのがすごくよかったです。ヒーローは序盤、ヒロインのこと知らないとき「ロンバードのお姫様のお守り」をさせられることにうんざりしてそうな顔でしたが…この行動的で優秀な狙撃手でもあり、自分さえ撒いて逃げるようなヒロインなら「ただのお姫様」であってくれた方がずっとましでしたよね？笑。

The heroine is the type that takes a long distance from men who don't want to get involved due to the murder of her eldest brother couple and remains pure, and the hero is aventure all year round, and furthermore, she sleeps with anyone if “it's more convenient for work.” But at this time, they are two people who love each other so intensely that they are second to none, and they don't blame each other for it. Even though the situation is thrilling, I can't stop my mind and body falling in love, and that is also romantic. At the end, it was really nice that the gun shot by the heroine definitely caught the culprit. In the beginning, the hero looked disgusted by being made to play “The Princess of Lombard's Amulet” when she didn't know about the heroine... if this heroine is also an active and excellent sniper and runs away by throwing herself away, it would be much better if she were “just a princess”, right? lol.
