"I'm living on the green side of the grass."
Successful career woman Sono never let envy drag her down. She had everything she ever wanted, and she'd gotten it all through her own hard work. On top of her growing list of accomplishments at work, her relationship with her boss (and live-in boyfriend) Taiya was going great, with a proposal right on the horizon...until one unexpected twist brought her whole perfect life tumbling down around her. Heartbroken and needing an escape, Sono moved to a run-down little apartment, only to realize it had a secret hole in the wall that looked straight into the neighboring apartment. When she sees what the neighbor is getting up to, she can't seem to look away, and as the days pass she finds herself more and more obsessed with peeking in on her neighbor...
A mature love story about a career woman intent on being "strong and independent," the mysterious boy next door, and their slowly intertwining lives.

    Hooked on the drama
Most of these stories I get recommended I expect to be very…yknow.. without a whole lot of substance to the characters or story, maybe cliche at the least. However I was completely taken aback when I found myself wanting to learn more and more about the protagonist, I was genuinely annoyed and entertained with the antagonists and I haven’t been able to stop reading this!! It’s been one of my very favorites so far. If you relate to having to rely on yourself to get through life you may just end up loving and relating to the main character of this story as a woman. Her love arc with Shiba is so fascinating and although it’s obvious to the reader what’s going on, you’ll be completely entranced by her perspective in this story.

    I love Sono but...
I love Sono but I think she's too nice for her own good. I hope that "Fido" gets to teach her to love herself more

Messy, but very good. I’m invested!
Honestly this story is full of tropes, but they’re done so well and don’t always end up as you’d expect. There’s a lot of drama, and I’d say each character is flawed in their own way, but that makes this even better. They all feel realistic and as the story progresses, like you’re seeing real change. I don’t feel like it’s heavy on the romance, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you may not love it. However, it’s what I was looking for, and I don’t even care anymore because I find the actual story and plot much more interesting.
