Honestly, the FL and ML are pretty boring but the background crime stuff kept me going

This review contains spoilers. This whole story is supposed to be some ‘destined true love’ trope, but the underlying tone is creepy. Ten years of difference when you’re both adults is one thing, but when you’ve known the girl(through her dad) since she was a grade schooler it just gives me groomer pedo vibes. He marries her out of ‘convenience’, then basically holes her up in an apartment by herself for years while she grows up. When she finally asks for a divorce all of a sudden he wants to bone her and not divorce her. WTF? She barely speaks up against him and he just steam rolls over her personal autonomy. She thinks it’s love since he ‘looked out for her’ all those years. Did some 16yo girl write this? I’m dumping it. I can’t read this anymore. It’s grossing me out.
