Typical axed endingThis review contains spoilers. I really liked this but the last chapter is so abrupt and nothing is resolved. They even keep the mysterious villain's motivations completely unexplained. It makes me want to read the novel (if there is one). Endings like this make me sad.

If you've read the title, you already know that this trope exists. However, it's not the utilization of this trope that is interested but rather how that trope is used to develop the story in this manga that I think is pretty fun and unique. There are a lot of different directions the story *feels* like it's going in, but it refuses to stick to one specific idea. Normally I'd say that an approach like that ends in it lacking any sort of interesting factors, but it's quite the opposite here. If you're looking for a read that takes a story in multiple directions and turns a trope or two on its head, this is a great choice to get into!
