I'm buying the author. The heroine is a naive 18-year-old who grew up isolated from the world. The hero is a rancher who is one size older. I think it's a difficult age difference when it comes to whether love can sprout even if a desire for protection develops.

I also understand the feelings of the heroine, who would fall in love with her if she was treated kindly in that situation. I want the older hero to make her happy when she has been lonely for the rest of her life. However, the age of 18 is delicate.
