  バッグパッカーとして一人で世界中を回っているうちに知り合った人との間に子どもが出来て、相手の家に認めてもらえずに出産の後母国に帰り、シングルマザーとして奮闘中。娘の父親と祖父の傲慢さ人でなしっぷりには唖然ぼう然。未だしも新しい恋の相手の分からず屋だった祖父の方が柔軟さはあるし、孫達へのそれまでの態度の反省を話す勇気がある。何のサインにせよ、相手の言いなりにその場で即刻も弁護士等のサポート無しには絶対にしてはいけない事を肝に銘じたい。絵は少しスタイル画みたいだけれど、どこかユーモラスで親しみやすかった。

  医療支援団体の活動に参加して現地に赴くほどに、ヒーローラフの心にポッカリと空いた穴は大きかったのかと 私の胸をギュウッと締め付けた。母親に置いていかれて、祖父には未来を潰されて、妹とは大きな溝が生まれ、これらが絶望でなくて何なのかと涙がこぼれた。ヒロインクララも根拠のない若さからの恐れ知らずの自信が招いた 恋の代償として授かったサマーとの暮らしは、楽なものではなかっただろうが 愛する我が子との暮らしの為に我武者羅に生きてきたことに敬服する。そんな２人が、過去と対峙し共闘する物語は、各々の辛さを特別な暗闇に置くわけではないが、それがかえって現実的にそして 恋へと生き方へと影響していくのには胸が高鳴った。エンディングでは、甘ったれた 誰からも愛されて当然と思い込んでいるバイロンが、サマーには振り返りもされずラフの下へと駆けていく作画によって 私の留飲は下がった。
