Story :  Mei Tachibana has no friendsand she doesn't need them! Ever since her "friends" betrayed her in elementary school, she's sworn off friendship entirely. All it leads to is betrayal and heartbreak, and she's well enough on her own. But everything changes when she accidentally roundhouse kicks the most popular boy in school! However, Yamato Kurosawa isn't angry in the slightest in fact, he thinks his ordinary life could use an unusual girl like Mei! He won't take no for an answer, and soon Mei and Yamato embark on an unwanted friendship that will change both of them forever. PRAISE FOR THE ANIME "Surprises with its honesty, its sensitivity, its quality. Always it is smarter, more poetic, more touching, just plain better than you think it is going to be." Long time fan
This is one of those defacto romantic dramas because it spans such a long period of time from when they are in high school to like college and beyond. I think there is a sequel too but I haven't read that one. It's an enjoyable storyline that you will read a lot of character growth in the series!

    Looking back
I looked forward to the release of every new volume a few years ago, but looking back on this now, I don't know why I enjoyed it so much. The characters are those you can easily root for, but a lot of the time situations are repeated and not watching them learn from their mistakes gets tedious a lot of the time.

Ugh, my heart. I just can't.
A shojo title with all of its heart-pounding moments. Mei lacks confidence but always seems to be angry or sad, and it's cute seeing her slowly come out of her shell as she gets to know Yamato. There's an anime and drama for this, too!
