don't judge a manga by its cover...?

Ohhhhhhh, I just read the whole series in one sitting. This is not what I was expecting in the best way possible. A beautiful story about love, time, and living. I may have cried like 5 times. This is one that's going to stick with me for a while, I think. I originally wasn't sure what to make of it being a student/teacher relationship but, without getting into spoilers, it sorts itself out by the end and I think it actually worked well, thematically.

The art and the character work are really lovely, I can tell this mangaka is very talented! I didn't love Kousei early on, but even he got his moments to "shine." :)

What would you do if you could control time?

This review contains spoilers. While reading the first volume I wasn’t that sure if I was going to like this manga since I thought Haga was a brat that put his desires first and didn’t have much consideration with Ayato’s feelings, and he is at first. But reading the second volume my perspective of this story changed completely.

When the backstory of Ayato and Shuma got introduced and we realized the accident that ended the life of Mashiro, Shuma’s twin brother, it puts on the table a lot of questions of the passage of time, while Haga wants to overtake the future and give all his shots to have a relationship with Ayato, Ayato is frozen in the past while relieving every memory he had with Mashiro and Shuma, meanwhile Shuma feels he was left by in the present. I really loved the serious tone this story took in comparison to the first volume that’s more funny and laid back.
If you aren’t sure about this story, I recommend giving the second volume a try because it is a massive improvement to the whole story, I’m waiting patiently for the 3rd and last volume!

Apr 25’ worth the wait

Picked this is up and couldn’t stop reading. The English translation stops at such a turning point for the story! Can’t wait for the rest to translate.
