"Everyone should just be 'saba saba' like me!" Nami Amihama (age 28) works in the editorial department for a women's fashion magazine. Nami constantly uses being saba saba (aka blunt) as an excuse for her biased assertions and has been ostracized by her coworkers because of it. One day, when Nami was being her usual arrogant self, she is confronted by her antithesis, Mai Honda (age 26). Mai is beautiful and feminine, and Nami can't hide her irritation. The battle between the self-proclaimed saba saba woman vs. the true saba saba woman begins!

    Absolutely Hooked
In the first few chapters, I was thinking "ah this will probably end or get boring once she gets fired". Then, as the plot went on, the character development and the artwork became increasingly unique and entertaining.

Saba Saba Girl is such an addictive read for a working adult. I feel as though I've met people similar to many of the characters in this manga, even if the situations are less dramatic in real life. I cannot wait to see where this manic, outrageous and unintentionally hilarious character goes next in the coming chapters.

    Good character writing
The author writes the character so well. I despise the mc, if she is the mc but Honda is a sweet adorable person and I can’t wait to see more of her

    Love it
So far it's a really entertaining story, though there's not
much to say yet since it has just started. I just really enjoy the main character and would love to see how things will go for her from here.

It's okay, but where's it going?
This review contains spoilers. As of chapter 9, Nami has gotten her just deserts. She's been given the boot after her lacklustre performance and utter lack of accountability and self awareness were thoroughly exposed. It's satisfying, but kinda... dull. The manga appears to be continuing after this, and I have to wonder... why? I sincerely doubt that Nami will ever change, and it's just going to be an endless succession of bridges burned and people having to deal with her severe DKE.

I think that if you enjoy those sitcoms that never seem to end, this will be your thing. (Indeed, in 2023 this manga was adapted for a live action Japanese sitcom.) I'm not a sitcom watcher myself, and the lack of a larger story arc or character development is frustrating. Also, having worked with multiple individuals with Nami's personality, the last thing I want to deal with is one in my free time. I've never found this type of humour appealing either, which doesn't help.

I think that there many readers who will enjoy this manga, but I'm afraid that I am not one of them. The art is generally decent, but won't blow your mind.
