Imitation Mate

USD 2.50 / 250pt ~ USD 2.80 / 280pt
"I just wanted to make an alpha like you pant." An omegaverse story where an alpha from an elite family who hates omegas meets an alpha who is too carefree. Tsukasa is the ideal alpha: he was raised in an elite family and now works in his father's company. One day, he happens to meet Yoshiki, a fellow alpha and former high school classmate, who he once saw as a rival. However, he is surprised to discover that the aloof Yoshiki is living a carefree, unprofessional life that is completely atypical for an alpha. They go out drinking to celebrate their reunion, and Yoshiki has a few too many, prompting Tsukasa to help him get home. That's when Yoshiki seizes the chance to entice Tsukasa: "Being with another alpha can be fun, too." Even though he is against it at first, Tsukasa eventually gives in to the frenzy of pleasure and gets carried away in a relationship that isn't just a one-time thing. He figures that he can stop this kind of infertile relationship anytime he wants...That is, until he notices changes within his body...

    Good
It’s the type of story that puts you in an emotional roller coaster. Worth the read.

    The sweetness!

    WTH??
WTH was that ending? That was completely out of no where and now that's it? There's gotta be another season right?

This was definitely different from any other omegaverse stories I've read. I enjoyed it... Even with that ending 😭

    creepy ending, want more closure
This review contains spoilers. Last chapter really gives some whiplash and yandere vibes. The wholesome factor went further down. If you didn’t think Yoshiki was a red flag before, it’s cemented by the end. “Even if none of it was real”, what is the “it” exactly?

I’m scared of other reviewers’ interpretations where they think Yoshiki will throw Tsukasa away. My reading is that Yoshiki did get a thrill (but also fell in love) when he saw Tsukasa crying. Otherwise, there’s no reason to joke about dating and being scared of rejection in his internal dialogue. The whole stealing his girlfriends and marking them for life before breaking up is straight psycho behavior. Even if he didn’t bite them, the exes wouldn’t be taken back so he arguably ruined their lives when it wasn’t necessary. He did a number on Tsukasa too, isolating him and exacerbating the “omega = less beings” mindset. The ending heavily implies that he will make Tsukasa into an omega. An interesting twist but messed up. I choose to believe that this is all done in extreme possessiveness and out of overbearing love. Because it’s too sad for Tsukasa otherwise.

It was great until the end
This review contains spoilers. Everything was so good, but that last panel just stopped me. Idk, I guess that last chapter of how Yoshiki deceived Tsukasa. I knew Yoshiki was a bit of an a*s, but this is on another level. I'm going to disregard the last half of the chapter.

It feels like Yoshiki will mark Tsukasa and then discard him, just as he has with Tsukasa's exes.

Yoshiki went from a jokster a*s to a complete monster. I personally feel like that was quite the jump in character and I'm not on board. Those last panels are non-existent to me.

    It feels incomplete
This review contains spoilers. It was hard to figure out if Yoshiki was just playing Tsukasa, but after a while you get hints that he might actually like him regardless of whether he is an alpha or not. The ending left me wanting to see more of what happens to them. It feels like a fleeting moment, with Tsukasa probably still not believing that Yoshiki really likes him or if he was just fooling around just to get in his pants.
