Stellar StorytellingThis is one of those titles I deeply regret procrastinating on; I wish I started this when I was a teenager! That said, reading this at the same age as the protagonist, makes his struggle all the more resonant to me, the oldest sibling with considerably more successful younger siblings. This is one of those rare stories that simultaneously feel grand and intimate at the same time, with the characters's struggles and psychology at its core. It's long, but well worth the journey.

The conflict between maintaining dignity, their pride, and the way the brothers encourage each other is so realistic and moving! The mystery of the UFO he saw as a boy and the promise he made to his savior in the story make you wonder what will happen to him, and yet, there are many chilling descriptions in the seriousness of the story that will make you want to read the rest as soon as possible. It has been made into an anime, an animated movie, and even a live-action movie, but the Manga may have the most detail to dig into!
