None of these people act like noblesThis review contains spoilers. Whether it’s the Princess, her knight, the daughter of an earl or a duke, or even the king himself, none of these characters have a single speck of noble manners/grace to them. This drama would be less annoying if it was set in anything other than nobility (even fantasy nobility). It seems more like high school drama. Art is cute, but the writing is not congruent with the setting.

The Most Drama of All TimeEvery conceivable court drama plot point is in this story. Despite that, it doesn’t seem rushed or contrived- it is all woven beautifully into the story. Every character has a motive driving them, and they will all do insane things as a means to an end. Truly an amazing read from start to finish.

Fun story ruined by bad localizationI feel bad for the original story, which is super fun and dramatic, because whoever did the typesetting for this made it not worth the price. I wouldn’t mind the piracy level typesetting if it was less expensive, but ~$40 USD to unlock the whole story when whoever translated this probably spent $0 on the typesetting is sad. Such a shame, because the story is a blast.

An amazing leading lady wasted on her terrible manThis review contains spoilers. Classic story: nobleman wants a contract marriage, stifled noblewoman agrees. The noblewoman is intelligent, charming, magnanimous, kind, beautiful, and loved by everyone. The male lead is a misogynist, clingy, and a jerk. Absolutely disappointing. Everyone acts like he’s a kind soul who has been wronged by the world. But his tragic backstory regarding women is that he was scammed by his ex girlfriend and got robbed. That’s it? All of that garbage treatment to the nicest lady over that? I’ve read dozens of stories on this site about characters who experienced terrible traumas and did not act 1/10th as rude as this guy. Also, the lewd scenes are super out of nowhere, not in character for the male lead who notoriously hates women, and also not consented by his wife. While I don’t diss the non-con enjoyers here (see 90% of the lewd marked comics on this site), this is certainly not the audience for that. I was debating rating this lower, but the female lead is so well written and cute that it amazes me that the author could be so bad at writing a suitable husband for her. Such a shame. I wish she had a better story to be in.

Need morePlease more… I’m a dried up mummy in the desert and the only way to heal me is more of Tina’s adventures… Joking aside, this is excellent. Tina captures the readers’ hearts just as much as she does everyone in the story. Excellent main character, excellent every other character, sweet story about people learning to open their hearts to the world around them.

A car crash you can’t look away from (positive)This review contains spoilers. Lovers of toxic romance, rejoice! You can’t get much more toxic than this. The main characters are introduced as a vindictive lady who is sleeping with her boss and the man stalking her for over 10 years. Everyone around them are the unfortunate witnesses to the world’s worst love story. The main lady is cruel, heartless, and has been victimized and mistreated by men her whole life, giving her a jaded view on love. The main guy is delusional, cowardly, and has spent his life being bullied for his weakness, giving him no confidence and making him obsessive over losing what he wants. Neither of them are good people, but as a result, they create a weirdly charming and endearing couple. For the people who want toxic, come on down, you’ll enjoy the ride.

Great Main Characters, Great Love Story!The main leads are excellent. The female lead is intelligent, determined, and in tune with her own emotions. She is devoted to her husband and determined to be by his side, even when he is cold. She never lets her sorrows get her down, but still allows herself to be vulnerable and kind. In turn, the male lead is guarded to the point of paranoia, but still sees reason and slowly but surely allows his guard to be let down. There is also some great dramatic moments that bring these two together. I am so delighted to see how these two overcome the very rocky start to their relationship! What an excellent story so far.

Lovers of Drama, Rejoice!This review contains spoilers. From the very first free chapters, this story makes itself known as a heel turn from fluffy love stories. This story is all about court drama! Plots to murder! Overcoming ableism! Vengeance! Stealing fiancées! Sibling angst! Using everyone for ulterior motives, even the people you love! It’s a total blast. Very snappy pacing and each character is determined and fun. No one character is totally a good person. Even the male leads are devious and flawed, but their determination shines through to both the reader and their leading ladies. It’s well worth the read, and it goes by quicker than you’d expect. Also, personally, I like sadistic yet devoted male leads, and this guy firmly cements his place in that category. The free chapters give you a warning on the drama to come, so it’s an honest depiction of whether this story is for you. A++++

My Jaw DroppedIn addition to being a feel good story about a spurned lady reclaiming her life and asserting her worth, it also has some of the best court drama of any of these types of stories I’ve read. There is a twist that made me drop my phone!!! It’s sooooo good!!

HilariousWhile the “miscommunication” trope is widely criticized, I believe that this manga (and similar titles like “My Fiancé Can Twist In The Wind) uses it exceptionally well. Turning the male lead’s pride and the female lead’s earnestness into a comedy of errors is the best way to handle this kind of trope. It’s so funny, and everyone else involved is looking at different angles of the miscommunication car crash and either bemoaning the affair or laughing alongside the reader. I look forward to seeing if this takes on a larger overarching story like Twist in the Wind did or if it ends up being short and sweet. Either way, I’m enjoying the ride!

Absolutely EnchantingLove the noble political intrigue combined with the look at commoner and merchant commerce. Fashion is the name of the game in this story, and the art captures that combination of form and function perfectly. The story is driven by the main character’s goals and dreams, not by a romance plot. There are hints to a later romance thread, but seeing how it comes to fruition over time is part of the charm of this story. Every character is so funny and charming, with their own quirks, worries, dreams, and motivations. Extremely bespoke views on how fashion ties into the societal roles people are forced to play AND how fashion can set them free from that as well. The magic system being a background element that plays a role in the story without becoming the “magic macguffin that fixes everything” is truly a stroke of genius and a mark of excellent world building/writing. The pacing is excellent, the style is impeccable, and I want more of it ASAP. This is exactly the type of magical realism fantasy story I wanted. If you’re obsessed with the genre but sick of the same old romance tropes, miscommunication nonsense, and rehashed drama points, you need to get in on this story instead. You will not regret a second spent reading this!

Do Yourself a Favor: Read this ASAP!Political intrigue! Trope breaks! Endearing characters with unique motivations that intertwine in a satisfying way! LGBT+ representation! Magical realism! Engaging dialogue! Adorable art! Overarching mystery that drives the story! Everything you could possibly want and more is in this. If you are looking for a reason to read it, DO IT! I cannot recommend this manga enough- it’s too fantastic and it should be the top rated manga on this site. Stop reading this review and buy the rest of the chapters NOW!

Who is this for?The period piece enjoyers will hate the lack of interesting political intrigue/court drama. The fantasy enjoyers will hate the weird and out of place use of magic in the plot. The shoujo enjoyers will hate that every female character is mean, shady, and unlikable. The nonlewd people will hate the rape scenes that are frequent and prevalent. The lewd people will hate that there is no actual nudity and sex scenes are just background flourishing, which means even noncon fetishists would hate this manga. Who does this manga cater to? If I could give it zero stars I would.

Poignant and PleasantA realistic look at being chronically ill that weaves period appropriate drama/politics into it. If you or anyone you love has ever had to go to work or a social gathering while feeling like you’re about to pass out at any second, you’ll appreciate the work that went into this story. I think this should be required reading for anyone dating someone with a chronic illness. Sometimes, when you feel like trash, it’s hard to be your best self. This is a story about being honest about how sick you feel and creating a circle of people you love that you can rely on. ♡

I love this kind of storyGenre of “bisexual noblewoman who would drop her fiancé for a cute girl in one second” is so so so so funny every time and I love it. Seeing the men that like her bend over backwards and she’s just like “GIRLS! ♡” never stops making me laugh. 11/10
