This review contains spoilers. I‘m crazy for a dramatic wild love story but this is not it. A couple chapters in and I cannot continue. (TLDR it’s a shallow story built on cliches with even flatter characters)

Momo meets Amagase when he stops the guy molesting her on a train. This sets Momo’s wish to find the hero who saved her and she meets him again and he’s different from what she’s expecting and it’s not just his appearance from their last encounter. He’s plays around with girls, but he doesn’t care for their feelings and finds them a nuisance most of the time. 

This leads to him declaring Momo should be his girlfriend after she boldly states she wouldn’t fall in love with him, AND THEN PROMPTLY KISSES HER. Ugh that is not cute at all, shoujo has its surprises but it needs some sense. They’re classmates and barely know each other and he’s made her his girlfriend (didn’t ask her), as if to test her statement and kisses her without her consent: very different interactions between them at key plot points. Shoujo has their shock factor moments but let’s not romanticize red flag behavior. 

I feel like all the characters are flat cliches I’ve read somewhere before. I don’t really know anything about Momo besides she’s been molested on a train and she has a childhood friend who also has a peach name. Shuto is introduced and quickly established that he’s her childhood friend and is in love with her. His concern for Momo getting involved with a guy with a bad reputation is reproached and he’s ignored. Ughhh

This review contains spoilers. Did not understand the summary but read the first chapter and was completely taken off guard by how horrible the female lead. 

It got so much worse that I was thoroughly disgusted by Ann. 

Then you learn a bit more and more then it starts to make sense. I think everyone has those kinds of insecurities whether they acknowledge it or not. Doing something out of fear is always going to lead you a bad road. It’s nice to see Ann turn herself around in the end

I very much want to hit Ina. I find him so selfish. I’m routing for the FL to get the dodge out of there and find her happiness but she doesn’t seem to want to let her cheating husband go (tied her self-worth to him ugh no). 

Like watching something burn and crumble. I can’t look away I need to see how it ends.

Ok I like it more now…there’s more complexity to each character and human quality to their actions, thoughts, and beliefs. 

Yuki is still a cheater but I understand where he’s coming from. You love who you love, and sometimes that’s more than one person in the romantic sense though Ina is still a home-wrecker and I think it’s crazy that he approached Yuki with Misaki in mind.

This review contains spoilers. I like the FL she’s relatable. I understand her motivations that drive her to be an independent career focused woman: the kind of girl that has it all, other people are amazed and want to be her, “her grass is greener”. 

Sono’s refreshingly cute although a bit wrapped up in the image she’s working hard to build and maintain. Her character is lively as she flounders to keep her image when stuff goes down. 

I can’t wait to see how the love story plays out between the ML who has a past that keeps him from pursuing any deeper relationship. I’m up to where the second ML has entered the scene, I feel like things are beginning to cook!
