SurprisedUsually when I see that a story has been written by Penny Jordan, I expect to see a lot of machismo and crying FL, but this one surprised me. I still enjoy reading PJ despite my comment, but this one was enjoyable and did not feel like a PJ story.

Not sure...I am not too sure how I feel about this story. I always like the hard to get relationships but this one had the FL constantly fighting back which was more annoying than intriguing.

Beautiful StorySuch a bittersweet story between two who are grieving and find new life (and love) with each other despite the pain. Loved it!

Sweet and RomanticAnother great historical harlequin romance that has such a great message; promises made to past loved ones conflict with what the heart wants. It is beautiful.

Want to read the book nowThis review contains spoilers. I like when these romance stories stray from the usual virgin storyline. The FL has self respect, but also is searching for love despite her deep seated insecurities. It makes me want to read the book to find out more about her background.

Really enjoyed it but...This review contains spoilers. I really liked this one but I wanted so much more with the ending. The lead up to their romance was great but the quick "I love you" and everything is hunky dory now made it seem like he has ulterior motives because of how quick it was. That is my only complaint.

One of my favorite FLThe FL was great. Compassionate, strong, and absolutely genuine. She truly made the story and the support she gave to the ML despite everything was wonderful. Loved the story because of her.

Mature RomanceThis was unique in how mature the romantic relationship was told. It went well beyond love at first sight and typical drama which made the story better. Each character was relatable and it was understandable to see how and why they felt the way they did. Great resolution!

Dumb but...I still read it all. 😒🤦 The story could never really get past the starting premise of being forced to have sex which really made the love and romance feel so fake. I did not care for it but I think I kept hoping for something more...

Liked it, but...This review contains spoilers. I really wanted there to be this love from when they were children that filly blossomed when they saw each other again. I guess it was there, but I wanted him to outright say it. ðŸ¤

EnjoyableThis review contains spoilers. There were various tropes mashed together in this story but I enjoyed the progression. I always appreciate when a man is begging forgiveness after being a jerk and I like that it wasn't a quick resolution after apologizing.

Wanted to give it a 5...This review contains spoilers. Ok, so I love these stories that make your heart hurt because it makes the love and resolution so much sweeter. My only thing is that I don't know how I feel about the twist. That made me mark this down to 4 stars. If not for that, an absolute 5 stars. I still want to read the novel though. 🤣

CuteIt was a cute story about an older woman who dates a younger guy and the insecurities that come with it. I like the slow pace with ithe intimacy but I wish there was more.

EhIt was ok. I did not really care for the characters and the romance did not really come across. Maybe it was easier to do so in the novel but I was not feeling it with this one.
