An Inspiring Ice-Skating Manga

Has an endearing mentor-mentee relationship at its core: a former professional ice skater struggling to make ends meet after his retirement and a gritty and adorable eleven year old entering the world of ice skating late in life. What really stood out to me, however, is the emphasis of children's agency, not just by the child characters but also by the adults themselves. However, the series itself never resorts to negligent or absent authority figures, unlike many stories featuring child or teen protagonists.

Figure skating and “humans” are drawn

Watching figure skating is a comic that sticks to me, and I can say that I like it in the same way as comics. First, it draws a scene where people skate with a dynamic composition while skillfully sandwiching an explanation of figure skating rules that are difficult to explain, and I'm fascinated by it. Also, it depicts “people involved in figure skating,” who constantly struggle because it costs money and the practice environment is limited, with a focus on the main character, Inori, who is the main character, and Mr. Tsukasa, who is the coach, and is extremely realistic and painfully depicted. Sports comics with strong psychological depiction double the excitement, but I think it's wonderful that they are fused at such a high level. The lines are a bit rough, but it also fits the atmosphere. It's a comic that you can fully enjoy, whether you're a Sukeota or not. But if you learn about figure skating, it'll probably be even more fun, so I want you to experience actual figure skating while reading comics! Even if you just watch it on TV, I think you'll discover a lot of things after reading this comic!

It's an amazing work

Not to mention the beauty of the figures and the depth of the content, but even more than that, it is such a careful, very deep, and warm work that it makes it difficult to depict human psychology. When I read the latest issue, I felt that it was a really amazing work. Also, the pictures are really nice, really beautiful and impressive, and the figure skaters are so cool...!! It really cheers me up!

A work I really like

This review contains spoilers.

This review contains spoilers. Not only is the story interesting, but the psychological depiction is terribly good. The main character who works hard, Inori-chan, Tsukasa sensei, and the rivals around them are all doing their best and I can't help but cheer for them. It is a work that delicately depicts the suffering of people who work hard and their power to overcome it, and it gives me a lot of courage.

No complaints

This review contains spoilers.

This review contains spoilers. It's really interesting! It's exhilarating to see cute pictures and elementary school girls competing in serious sports. It's painful to watch how athletes get injured, but it depicts the severe world of athletes, and I want to keep reading.

I was inspired and went to the rink

I asked my parents to learn how to skate since Mao-chan was booming, but while remembering the days when they were rejected as bad because they didn't have money, they couldn't give up no matter what, and it was an opportunity for me to go there on my own after becoming an adult. I remember when the cross was made and practice.

GOE+5！

GOE+5!

Originally, I was watching anime and was curious, so when I watched comics, I was first surprised at how beautiful the pictures were. I also like drawing anime, but even though it's black and white, it looks like it's sparkling, and the lines are so detailed that the characters' expressions and the power of their performances are packed into each frame, so I was drawn in at once. Of course, the story and characters are also very fascinating. After all, my recommendation is Inori. They were timid, clumsy, and floating around, and the depiction at school made my heart ache unexpectedly... However, I am really moved by the sight of such a child conveying her feelings to her mother and shining more and more brightly on the ice. I shed tears for the first time in comics. It was also an opportunity for me to become interested in skating. Once you know the rules and the difficulty of the techniques, etc., I feel that skating, which I had been watching until now, is even more interesting, and now I can tell the 6 types of jumps apart? ️

The amount of heat is outstanding...!

Of course, it's ingenious as a sports comic, but the collision of emotions between the characters is just too amazing...! The relationships between Inori and Tsukasa, Inori and Hikaru, Hikaru and Tsukasa, etc. are already... crazy!!

Growth story

This review contains spoilers.

This review contains spoilers. I started with anime. I like figure skating, and I often watch competitions, but it's interesting that they also explained the structure and techniques of the tournament, which I had no idea, in detail. The growth rate of Inori, who started the competition in earnest compared to the kids around her, is amazing, but I like the fact that she can't win the championship so easily, and she doesn't cheat too much due to steady effort. Not to mention the talents and efforts of the athletes themselves, but not only that, the feelings of the coach, surrounding staff, and supporters who support them become one, and they are compatible, the timing and luck are good, and I thought it would be a really steep road if the Olympic medals were finally visible beyond that. Not only Inori-chan and Hikari-chan, who are at the center, but the characters of the other players are individually drawn, and I hope everyone who has worked so hard will be rewarded, but that's not the case, and the competitive world is tough. Thinking about that, I was able to feel even more the awesomeness of the Milan Olympic medalists, and watching the video makes me cringe. The growth of Mr. Tsukasa, who supports Inori, as a coach was also wonderful, and I thought it was a story where not only Inori but everyone overcame difficulties, experienced setbacks, and grew up.

Why didn't you watch it sooner...

I'm happy to be able to write a review of a skate comic that I wanted to write someday. Are comics for beginners valuable? It's exciting to be able to watch from the basics and beginners. Scoring and how to watch the game are explained in detail, so it's easy to understand even if you're not familiar with skating. It's a good comparison to Kochi Ice Dance, where my dream was shattered. The point is that there are constant conflicts between players and coaches, and gags are rampant even though the content is severe. After practice, it's good for everyone to fill in the holes they made by jumping. Everyone in the skating scene had their own personality, and they made a desperate and quick decision, and it was quite impressive. I like “Let them win” by Coach Tsukasa. I like Inori to believe it and don't doubt it

I can't help but cheer!!

The two main characters, the coach and athlete, are carefully drawn, aren't they? Of course, their passion for skating, explanation of figure skating, etc. are also careful. The drawing has a sense of realism and is full of dynamism. There are plenty of ways to face rivals, fear of injury or failure, practice, etc., so keep an eye on the growth of the two!!

If you like figures, be sure to read it!

I like figure skating itself, and I've been watching senior competitions for a long time, but I had no idea about the circumstances leading up to that point. The reason I shed tears every volume is probably because I originally got old in the athletic field, but I want you to read it anyway. Each character probably has a tremendous story, but I think it's a comic that doesn't show it at all, cuts out waste, is simple, and yet it attracts the heart.

impressive...!

The drawing power is amazing, and the story is interesting too! It's powerful, and above all, the characters are lively. I understand how difficult it is to get a medal. I read all the way from beginning to the latest episode, but I'm worried about the continuation!!

I'm not addicted to sports comics I'm addicted to it

Normally, I'm rarely addicted to sports comics, etc., so I became addicted to it. First, I like the design. The subject is figure skating, but the expressions of the athletes and their sense of dynamism when skating are amazing. Naturally, there is competition as a sport, but it's really nice that everyone has their own feelings and accumulated time to become the protagonists, and they also respect each other. The relationship where people praise each other without falling in love with each other is wonderful. I'm not familiar with figure skating at all, but explanations of techniques etc. are written in an easy-to-understand manner, which is also very good. There were also scenes where the main character grew, the growth of rivals, and the sight of them standing up even when hit a difficult wall made me burst into tears.
